photo 1: October 2004

After a long walk in the woods today in upstate NY, with two of my closest friends and companions on this ever changing and growing journey, it was a mutual agreement that the time has come for me to express myself through the work I love most.
For the past 2 1/2 years I have been traveling and documenting, through my eye, the stones of the holy road. It is NOW time to share with you and allow myself to be the photographer I am truly meant to be. I hope you will enjoy these photos and the memories they spark within me.

"when your on a journey,
as the journey gets further and further away
you understand the journey is the journey"... Louis Westergaard

It's best to start at the beginning...

remembering:
Nashville, my first road trip with Lizzie West. Inspired by the music, the person, and the road
I was finally able to pick up my camera again with passion. Traveling 10-12 hours there and back allowed me time to observe, feel and grow.

This picture is somewhere in PA early morning on a no trespassing property. Caught by the owner and told "I think you all better get on and git".

Good Start!
As the quote indicates, sometimes the journey is a means to a specified end, and sometimes its an end in itself, " ... the journey is the journey."
Enjoy the journey,
James
